Don’t Miss Your Medical and Therapy Appointments During COVID-19

This year has been full of controversy and fear over the COVID-19 pandemic. It has changed our lives, especially when it comes to healthcare. If you’re like a lot of people, you’ve probably avoided going out as much as possible, even if it means missing important appointments. This isn’t always a good thing, especially when you suffer with chronic pain from debilitating conditions.

At Alliance Orthopedics, our staff strives to keep you as pain-free as possible, while protecting you against the wrath of COVID-19. Our goal is to keep you and our staff as healthy as possible so we can continue to treat all of our patients safely.

Reasons you shouldn’t miss appointments

Injuries and chronic pain don’t stop just because of a pandemic. If you’re dealing with discomfort, missing your scheduled appointments could delay healing and even make things worse. Regular appointments keep your recovery on track.

At Alliance Orthopedics, we treat a variety of conditions with a multidisciplinary approach. Along with our orthopedic surgeons, we have a multitude of other specialty personnel, including:

  • Interventional Pain Management
  • Foot and Ankle Specialist
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Chiropractors

When you’re dealing with an orthopedic condition such as herniated disc or degenerative disc disease, treatment is critical to your healing, recovery, and overall health. If you’re dealing with chronic pain conditions, it’s even more important to keep your body functioning as normally as possible. Some of the conditions that you definitely want to keep your therapy and medical appointments for include:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sciatica
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Pinched nerves
  • Chronic muscle conditions

No matter what’s causing your pain, in order for our team to alleviate your discomfort, you need to make your regularly scheduled appointments, despite the pandemic. Making sure to take the proper precautions can ensure you stay physically healthy.

How we’re protecting you

At our offices, our main priority is keeping you and all our patients safe. So, we’ve amped up our cleaning protocols in response to COVID-19, along with other precautions. Our team has taken measures to make sure we offer the cleanest and safest environment possible for your treatment.

Because this pandemic has caused widespread sickness all over the world, we’re doing our part to decrease the spread of COVID-19. Some of the precautions we’re taking to keep everyone healthy includes:

  • Masks required by everyone
  • Frequent surface sanitization
  • Contactless temperature screenings
  • Sanitized equipment between patients
  • Ample hand sanitizer stations

We’re also disinfecting all of the offices with our EMist® sprayer to ensure all surfaces and equipment are completely clean. Along with all of the cleaning protocols, we’re also offering you telehealth appointments in case you can’t, or don’t feel comfortable, coming into the office.

When you shouldn’t come in

Although we strongly suggest that you don’t miss appointments, there are some circumstances surrounding the pandemic where you should notify us and not come in. If you begin to have any symptoms of COVID-19, you should call the office right away and we’ll act accordingly. Symptoms that we should be aware of include:

  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Dry cough
  • Body aches
  • Shortness of breath

If you’re unsure of your symptoms, give our office a call so we can advise you whether to come in or not. In the case that you’re unable to come into the office, we may still be able to accommodate your appointment via telemedicine. This involves a video visit with one of our providers, so you can still stay on track with your treatment plan.

It’s so important that you continue to see your therapists and doctors during the pandemic for a favorable outcome. Additionally, with the end of the year drawing near, we encourage our patients to book their appointments now to ensure they meet their insurance deductibles. If you need to schedule an appointment with one of our providers, call one of our four convenient locations in New Jersey, or book a telehealth visit or regular visit online today.
