Foot and ankle surgeon Ammar Saymeh, DPM, is the Director of Lower Extremity Services at Alliance Orthopedics. He sees patients of all ages, ranging from pediatrics to the elderly population at the practiceβs locations in Old Bridge, East Brunswick and Freehold, New Jersey.
His surgical and clinical interests include minimally invasive vein ablations, ports injuries, which include ligamentous and tendon injuries, Achilles tendon injuries, ankle sprains, and strains, arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive bunion, and hammertoe surgery, reconstructive flatfoot surgery, post-traumatic arthritis, fracture repair, and deformity correction of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Saymeh attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers University, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology in 2010. He then attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. After completing his education at Temple, Dr. Saymeh completed his three-year surgical residency training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, a Level 1 trauma center.
Before joining the Alliance Orthopedics team, Dr. Saymeh worked in private practice in Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Licensed to practice in New Jersey, he is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Saymeh remains active in teaching both students and residents and attends multiple conferences throughout the year in order to remain up to date on the newest and best surgical techniques. He is certified in the Arthrex MIS (minimally invasive surgery) Course Level III and the ProStep Minimally Invasive System by Wright Medical in techniques for both forefoot and rearfoot minimally invasive procedures.
He most recently completed training at the world-renown Duke Orthopedics in the Exactech Vantage Total Ankle System. He is also certified in the Zimmer Trabecular Total Ankle Replacement System and has completed the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy course.
