Healthy veins in your legs keep blood flowing back to the heart. When the valves stop working properly, blood can flow backwards towards your feet, a condition called reflux. This causes blood to pool in the veins of your lower leg. When left untreated, these and other symptoms can progress into a more serious condition called chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).

Treatment options for venous insufficiency depend on the severity of the condition and the underlying causes. In general, treatment aims to improve blood flow in the legs, reduce swelling, and relieve symptoms. Sclerotherapy and radiofrequency vein ablation are two treatments we offer at Alliance Orthopedics.
Radiofrequency Vein Ablation
A treatment method used to minimize the appearance of varicose and spider veins. The procedure involves the insertion of a small probe into the affected vein. The probe emits radiofrequency waves to heat and seal damaged veins to redirect blood flow to healthier veins.
Sclerotherapy
A medical procedure in which a chemical solution is injected into the veins to make them collapse, redirecting blood flow to healthier veins and alleviating venous insufficiency.
